Six Garner ECAC Honors

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its 2015 Division III South Baseball All-Star Teams, Tuesday, and Frostburg senior pitcher Clayton Freimuth and head coach Guy Robertson earned top honors.
 
Freimuth was named the ECAC South Co-Pitcher of the Year, Robertson was named the league's Coach of the Year and a total of five players were named to the two teams.
 
Along with being named Co-Pitcher of the Year, Freimuth was joined on the ECAC South First Team by fellow All-American Bennett Schiltz. The duo were named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-American Second and Third Teams, respectively, and powered the Bobcats behind a combined 18 wins, 165 strikeouts and a 1.72 earned run average.
 
Freimuth finished sixth in all of DIII in strikeouts (101), while Schiltz was third nationally with 10 wins. Freimuth was also named a D3Baseball.com First Team All-American.
 
The ECAC South Coach of the Year honor was his third award of the spring for Robertson after he led Frostburg to a school and Capital Athletic Conference record 43 wins. The Bobcats won both the CAC regular season and tournament championships en route to their first NCAA Mideast Regional Championship and first NCAA World Series appearance.
 
A pair of seniors in Ricky Brady and Nick Walker, along with freshman standout Greg Schneider were named to the ECAC South Second Team.
 
Walker was named a Second Team All-American by D3Baseball.com after finishing eighth in the country in hits (78), seventh in RBI (57), 10th in total bases (126), 16th in runs (54) and 19th in stolen bases (27). Meanwhile, Brady earned First Team All-South Region honors by both D3Baseball.com and the ABCA after finishing 12th in Division III with 11 home runs this spring. He was 10th nationally in RBI (55) and 28th in total bases (110).
 
Schneider's ECAC Second Team honor is his seventh postseason award following an impressive season as both a pitcher and outfielder. A D3Baseball.com Third Team All-American, Schneider finished seventh in Division III with 98 strikeouts and 12th with nine wins on the mound. He limited opponents to a .187 batting average, while posting a 1.85 ERA in a team-high 87.1 innings pitched. In 93 at-bats, Schneider hit .333 with 31 hits, 23 runs, three home runs and 14 RBI.
