FROSTBURG, Md. – Senior Devin Colegrove and junior Nick Stailey combined for 12 points and Frostburg State cruised to a 14-9 upset win over No. 16 Washington College in non-conference men's lacrosse action, Saturday.

The win couldn't have come at a better time for Frostburg as the Bobcats improved to 4-0 for the second-straight season behind their first win over a ranked team since restarting the program in 2011.

Colegrove posted his third seven-point game of the season behind one goal and six assists, while Stailey added four goals and one assist. As a team, Frostburg led in ground balls (40-29), saves (15-8) and were 15-of-17 on clear attempts.

Freshman Ethan Aikin scored off a pass from senior Chris Rios with 4:48 showing in the first quarter for a 3-2 lead that the Bobcats would never surrender. Colegrove found junior Tate Rolland for back-to-back goals to open second-quarter play and Colegrove added his third-consecutive assist when he found Stailey for a 7-3 Bobcat advantage with 10:15 left in the second quarter.

Senior Spencer Barnett and freshman Keegan Colegrove scored the only two goals of the third quarter for either team as FSU increased its lead to 10-5 after three.
The Bobcats shut the door on the Shoremen (1-3) with a run of four-consecutive goals starting at 10:12 in the fourth quarter and ending at 7:29 as Frostburg led 14-6. Stailey scored the first and four goal of the run that essentially sealed the game.

Washington's Tanner Barbieri, who scored four times for the visitors, had two of the Shoremen's final three goals as they pulled to within 14-9 at the final horn. Washington outshot Frostburg 40-34, including a 16-8 edge in the fourth quarter, but Frostburg proved too much as 10 different players registered a point.

Barnett finished with two goals and two assists, Rolland added two goals and one assist and senior Greg Bourne added two goals to help power the attack. Sophomore Kyle Horak scooped up six ground balls, while junior Tom Kraemer posted 15 saves for the win.

Stephen Luck added three goals for Washington while keeper Jackson Szurley finished with eight saves in the loss.

The Bobcats play host to Illinois Wesleyan Monday at 4:00 p.m.
