WAYNESBURG, Pa. – Frostburg State trailed by as many as 14 points and later rallied Tuesday night for a 68-65 win over Waynesburg.
 
The host Yellow Jackets (0-4) led from the opening basket until just over six minutes remaining in the game and built a 14-point cushion with 13 minutes to play in the second half. BJ Durham connected on a three-pointer as Waynesburg led 52-38.
 
The Bobcats (1-3) then turned it on behind an 11-0 run that sparked the comeback. Sophomore Tyler Michael hit two three-pointers during the run and senior Torrell Goodman added a basket from beyond the arc as Frostburg knotted the contest at 56-56 with 7:18 to play.
 
Moments later, junior Shawn Bozier hit a layup for a 58-56 lead, Frostburg's first of the ballgame. Waynesburg hit a three-pointer with 2:40 showing for a three-point lead, but FSU senior James Peters scored four-straight points and Bozier knocked down two late free throws to seal the victory.
 
Peters led the Bobcats with 19 points and three assists, while sophomore Tyler Michael had 11 behind those two huge three-pointers. Senior Nick Smoot contributed 10 and Frostburg shot a season-best 45.3% from the floor.
 
BJ Durham led Waynesburg with 18 points, while DJ Ritchie scored 13 and pulled down 11 rebounds.
 
Frostburg State returns to action on Sunday when it opens CAC play at Christopher Newport at 3:00 pm.
