WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Frostburg State women's swim team split with Washington and Jefferson and Alderson Broaddus, while the FSU men dropped both contests, Saturday afternoon.
Meet ResultsThe FSU women pulled out a close victory against Alderson Broaddus, winning by a slim margin of 52-43, before falling to W&J 86-25.
The Bobcat men's swimming team dropped to both Alderson Broaddus (76-19) and the Presidents (94-17).
The Frostburg State women's swim team posted two first place finishes this afternoon. Sophomore Macey Nitchie took first in the 200-yard freestyle with a winning time of 2:00.77, while freshman
Maddie Weinberger placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.78).
Nitchie went on to swim to a third place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (26.51) and a second place finish in the 500-yard free (5:44.62).
Weinberger placed second in both the 200-yard IM (2:24.47) and the 100-yard freestyle (58.55).
Bobcat freshman Emily Turner scored for the Bobcats in both the 1,000-yard freestyle (12:01.31) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:08.62), both third place finishes.
On the men's side, sophomore Christian March posted both of the Bobcat's two wins for the afternoon. He took first in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.89) and the 50-yard freestyle (22.43).
March also helped the FSU 200-yard medley relay (1:44.73) of sophomore Deionn Yarberough, freshman Sidney Horton and sophomore James Williams to a third place finish.
Frostburg swimming will return to the pool Saturday, November 7 when they play host to Salisbury for a dual meet set to start at 1:00 pm.
