FROSTBURG, Md. – Honoring senior swimmers Brian Sentz, Jeff Page, and Jacob Aylward the Frostburg State men's swimming team brought home a dominating 168-82 win against the Elizabethtown Blue Jays.
Photo GalleryResultsAlthough the bobcats honored the trio prior to the meet for senior day, it was a trio of underclassman that dominated the meet with a combined 11 victories.
Junior Jon Shepard and freshman Christian March each posted three individual wins and one relay victory, while freshman Deionn Yarberough captured two individual wins and a relay victory.
Shepard won the 50-meter breaststroke (31.36), 100-meter breaststroke (1:08.67) and 200-meter IM (2:25.42). Meanwhile, March picked up victories in the 50-meter freestyle (24.73), 100-meter freestyle (55.35) and the 50-meter butterfly (27.33). Yarberough won both the 50 (31.05) and 100-meter backstroke (1:11.20).
The threesome opened the meet with a win in the 200-meter medley relay in 1:56.13. The fourth member of the team was freshman James Williams who posted individual runner-up finishes in the 200-meter freestyle (2:09.55), 100-meter backstroke (1:13.17) and the 400-meter freestyle (4:44.60).
On their final night of swimming at Bobcat natatorium, the seniors turned in a handful of stellar efforts.
Page picked up a second-place finish in the 100-meter butterfly (1:14.16).
Aylward posted a second-place team finish in the 200-meter freestyle relay alongside freshman teammates Zach Shattuck, John Singleton, and Jake Schmid (2:07.75).
Sentz joined Aylward taking third-place in the 200-meter medley (2:17.16) relay along with teammates Alek Combs (sophomore) and David Rubino (freshman).
FSU men's and women's swimming teams will compete at Mary Washington Saturday, January 30 at 1 pm.
