FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State men's basketball team fell to Capital Athletic Conference foe Salisbury Saturday at Bobcat Arena, 81-44.
Shooting just 23 percent from the floor, the Bobcats kept the game within ten with just over six minutes left in the opening half, but the game slipped away when the Seagulls' Adrien Straughn, Kyle Savercool and Rocky Harris hit back-to-back-to-back three-pointers with 5:30 to play before the intermission.
Frostburg State shot a perfect 5-for-5 in free throws in the first half, but was unable to recover from the 16-point deficit it took into the locker room.
Trailing 36-20 heading into the final half, Salisbury went on a 19-2 run to take a 55-22 lead with 14:20 left to play to put the game out of reach.
While the Bobcats struggled offensively, Salisbury shot over 50 percent in both halves to put the game away.
Jabari Kamau led both teams' scoring with 15 points added five rebounds. Jerel Carter chipped in eight points and two rebounds while Dalton Gaus added seven points and three rebounds.
Rocky Harris and Justin Witmer each had 13 points for the Seagulls.
The Bobcats travel to Southern Virginia next Wednesday to take on the Knights at 7:30 p.m.
