Bobcats Overpowered by No. 1 Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – Freshman Megan Hart netted three goals and added an assist but the Frostburg State women's lacrosse team was overpowered by No. 1 ranked Salisbury in Capital Athletic Conference action, Saturday.

The undefeated Sea Gulls pushed their record to 12-0 behind a 10-0 scoring advantage in the first half. SU outshot the Bobcats (2-10) 24-6 in the opening stanza and finished the contest a perfect 15-for-15 in clear attempts.

Hart kicked off the second half action for the Bobcats with her first score of the contest less than 30 seconds into play. FSU fared better in the second half, tying Salisbury with six goals and drawing within 13-9 in shots.

Frostburg opened the second half with four-straight goals, three coming from Hart. Junior Malory Brunett added the second goal of the half for Frostburg at 27:42. Sophomore Marissa Howk scored at 13:44 and Brunett added her second of the game with 3:24 remaining for the Bobcats.

Freshman Dylan Teitalbaum suffered the loss in the net despite making eight saves.

Bethany Baer led the way for Salisbury with four goals and two assists, while Shelby Nemecek also added four goals. Ashton Wheatley made five saves in goal for the win.

Frostburg returns home on Wednesday (Apr. 9) as it hosts CAC opponent York (Pa.) at 4:00 pm.
