The Bobcats (18-5, 8-3 CAC) received a good combination of pitching and hitting as they were able to comfortably overcome the Lions (4-20, 1-11 CAC).

Despite the score line in game one, FSU trailed 1-0 for the majority of the contest. The Frostburg offense finally came to life in the seventh and eighth innings with two and five runs, respectively. In the seventh, senior Dylan Shupe tied the game with an RBI single to center and later in the inning sophomore Zach Keeler gave the Bobcats the lead for good with an RBI single through the left side. Junior Ricky Brady delivered the big blow in the five-run eighth with a single to left field that plated two runs.

In game two, the Lions got off to the early 1-0 lead again with a single run in the first and the Bobcats responded with a single run of their own in the third. The Frostburg offense took a while to get going, but once again exploded in the later innings.

FSU scored 12 runs in its final four at-bats. The Bobcats took the lead for good with four runs in the sixth behind a tie breaking two-run home run from senior Rob Jennings. Five more runs crossed the plate in the eighth with a two-run double from Shupe and a two-run single from junior Kam Stewart. The lead was extended to the final score of 13-1 with three more runs in the ninth courtesy of RBIs from seniors Will Warrick and Josh Jackson, and junior Daniel Weller.

Freshman Ryan Callahan (1-0) picked up the win for the Bobcats after allowing just five hits, one run, and striking out six in seven innings of work.

FSU was led offensively on the day by senior Kevin Kean who went 4-for-9 with three RBIs and three runs and Brady who posted a 4-for-8 day with two RBI and a run scored.
