TOWSON, Md. – A fierce Frostburg State rally came up two goals short in a 14-12 loss to Goucher in non-conference women's lacrosse action, Wednesday.

The Gophers (4-3) led by six goals twice in the second half, but Frostburg (0-6) didn't back down.
Trailing 14-8 with 8:59 to play, the Bobcats collected a four-goal run in a little under two minutes of play to draw within 14-12 with 5:13 showing. Freshman Megan Hart scored two goals and handed out one assist during the outburst, but the Bobcats were unable to draw any closer before the final horn.
Frostburg held a pair of leads in the first half and led 4-1 at 16:34. Goucher answered with 10 of the game's next 11 goals for an 11-5 lead with just under 20 minutes remaining in the second half.
Hart finished with three goals and one assist to lead the attack. Junior Ellie Garner added three goals, while seniors Megan White and Brittany Miller each added two. Sophomore Heather Lowe made six saves in the loss.
Erin Reifsnyder scored three times and passed out three assists for the Gophers. Megan Meluskey contributed three goals and two assists.
The Bobcats open CAC action this Saturday when they visit Marymount at 2:00 pm.
