Women’s Lacrosse Overpowered By Catholic

FROSTBURG, Md. – Catholic scored the game's first four goals and never let up in a 21-8 victory over Frostburg State in non-conference women's lacrosse action, Tuesday.

The Cardinals (1-0) collected three 4-0 scoring runs in the opening half and scored two goals in the final 23 seconds of the first stanza to lead 16-5 at intermission.

CUA scored the first two goals of the second half and outscored the Bobcats 5-3 in the period.

Senior Megan White and junior Jessica Jones each finished the contest with three goals to pace FSU's scoring. White scored a pair in the first, while Jones added two in the second. Senior Brittney Miller and freshman Emani Byrd each added a goal in the loss. Freshman keeper Dylan Teitalbaum stopped 14 shots.

Five different players scored three goals for Catholic. Lindsay Brophy led the way with three goals and four assists, while Laura Dunn added three goals and three assists. Eight different players registered at least one point for the Cardinals.

FSU returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Bridgewater at 4:00 pm.
