ARLINGTON, Va. – Saturday afternoon, Mary Washington and Marymount outswam the Frostburg men and women in the season's final meet. Final scores were not made readily available. 

Results

Sophomore Jonathan Shepard overtook four of his rivals to capture second place in the men's 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.19). Senior Jesse Gregory provided an additional top-five finish in the 100-yard free as he took fourth place at 52.15.

Freshman Alexandar Combs and junior Jacob Aylward posted two more top-five finishes for the Bobcats. Combs touched the wall at 1:02.09 in the 100-yard butterfly, while Aylward had a final time off 5:16.37 in the 400-yard IM.

Gregory, Combs and Shepard competed in the 200-yard medley relay with senior Vincent Faiella swimming anchor. The Bobcat men placed fourth, finishing in 1:51.95.

The women's team posted four top-five finishes out of ten events.

Junior Kaitlyn Donch earned the single win of the day for the Bobcats. In the 100-yard breaststroke Donch outpaced her opponents with the first-place time of 1:15.04. She later jumped in the pool with teammates Sara King (junior), Jackie Franzak (junior), and Maci Quintanilla (sophomore) to take fourth place in the 200-yard medley relay (2:07.25).

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, King had Quintanilla, and juniors Elizabeth Jarrell and Meredith Johnson following her. Their time of 1:55.40 landed them fourth place, just two seconds ahead of their competitors.

To cap the meet, Quintanilla added another top-five finish in the 400-yard IM, placing fourth with her time of 5:33.14.

The Frostburg men's and women's swimming teams will return to the pool on February 21st to compete in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament in St. Mary's City, Md.
