FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State University women’s lacrosse team hung tough with second-ranked Salisbury early in the contest, but in the end, SU proved too much and secured a 19-5 win, Saturday.

The Bobcats (5-10, 1-5) answered two early Salisbury goals with two of their own that knotted the game at 2-2. Junior Megan White (20:33) and senior Katelyn Kesecker (17:47) recaptured some of the momentum from the Sea Gulls (15-0, 6-0). Senior keeper Naomi Swann did her part to fend off the SU attack with three saves inside the first five minutes of action.
However, the Sea Gulls took over the contest with eight-straight goals heading into halftime. Following FSU’s two goals, the visitors netted three quick scores in the span of two minutes for a quick answer and a 5-2 lead midway through the first.
White opened second half action with her second score of the contest, to trim the deficit to 10-3, but Salisbury scored four more quick goals over a 3:36 stretch to increase its lead to 14-3.
White scored for the third time with 15:26 to play and freshman Emily Walker netted a goal three minutes later as Frostburg pulled within nine, 14-5.
Salisbury answered again by closing out the contest with five-consecutive goals for the 19-5 victory.
White finished with three goals and one assist, her sixth game with three or more goals and third straight. Swann finished with 12 saves and four ground balls.
Salisbury was led by Lauren Feusahrens, who scored four goals with one assist, while Kara O’Rourke had two goals and two assists. Ashton Wheatley made five saves in the win.
Frostburg State has earned the sixth seed in the upcoming CAC Tournament and will travel to third-seeded Mary Washington for the first round on Tuesday, April 23. A time has yet to be announced.
