FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State men's soccer team has earned the fifth seed in the upcoming 2013 Capital Athletic Conference Tournament, that begins on Saturday, Nov. 2.
With one game left in the regular season, the Bobcats sit at 11-4 overall and 4-3 in league play. FSU will travel to fourth-seeded Mary Washington (11-6, 5-3) for an opening round match at 2:00 pm. The Bobcats and Eagles met this past Saturday in Fredericksburg with UMW capturing a 2-0 win.
The other opening round match will pit third-seeded Christopher Newport (11-5-1, 5-2) against sixth-seeded Wesley (8-8-2, 3-4).
Regular-season champion and top-seeded Salisbury is 15-2 overall and a perfect 7-0 in the league. The Sea Gulls with host the winner of FSU/UMW on Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the tournament semifinals. Second-seeded York (Pa.) is 15-2 overall and 6-1 in the league and will host either Wesley or CNU in the second semifinal.
The tournament championship is slated for Saturday, Nov. 9 at the highest remaining seed, while the winner will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
