FROSTBURG, Md. – After taking a 7-0 lead, the Frostburg State University football team surrendered 21 unanswered points to Waynesburg and suffered a 21-7 setback, Saturday.

The Bobcats (1-1), who dropped their fourth-straight game to the Yellow Jackets (2-0), scored on their second possession of the game for a 7-0 lead. FSU marched 85 yards on 13 plays and chewed 7:17 off the clock before junior running back Chuky Iweh scored from a yard out.
However, Waynesburg answered with two touchdowns in the second quarter for a 14-7 edge at halftime. Adam Moses hauled in a six yard scoring pass from Tyler Fatigante early in the second that tied the ballgame at 7-7. With 25 seconds left in the first half, Fatigante found Andrew English for a 14 yard touchdown that gave the hosts a 14-7 lead at intermission
Neither team was able to move the ball effectively in the third quarter, but Waynesburg found the end zone midway through the fourth quarter for the game’s final points. Fatigante registered his third touchdown of the game, this time a one yard scoring run that capped a 13-play 72-yard drive.
After piling up yards, first downs and points in the opener last Saturday, all three were harder to come by for the Bobcats against Waynesburg. FSU totaled 287 yards of offense, 241 through the air, with just 10 first downs.
Sophomore quarterback Ken Emmons finished with 241 yards passing on 14-of-26 attempts. He tossed a 43 yarder to sophomore wide receiver Antonio Wood on the first drive. Emmons found Iweh for a 62 yard pitch-and-catch on the second drive that setup the visitor’s only touchdown.
Senior wide receiver Anthony Young hauled in seven passes for 95 yards while Wood finished with 75 yards on three receptions. Iweh totaled 51 yards on 15 carries to lead the ground attack and finished with 113 all-purpose yards.
Senior defensive back Brendon Blanchette made a career-best 17 tackles, 12 solo, with one tackle for loss. Junior Josh Pennington added 11 tackles.
Fatigante threw for 122 yards (11-of-14) and two first half touchdowns. He also led Waynesburg in rushing on 11 attempts for 64 yards and the fourth quarter score.
Frostburg returns to the field next Saturday when it travels to Case Western Reserve for a 1:00 pm kickoff.
