CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Washington College pounded out ten runs in the first inning and added nine more runs in the second and third to put the Frostburg State baseball team in a huge hole that they could not overcome and fell 20-3, at Athey Baseball Park.

FSU got on the scoreboard in the second inning when Shane Boyd grounded out to the shortstop to score Adam Summerfelt who reached on a hit by pitch.
The Bobcats got their first hit of the game in the sixth courtesy of a pinch-hit triple by Matt Donaldson. Donaldson later scored on a sacrifice fly by Pat Sapp.
Torian Cyrus led off the seventh inning with a single and then stole second. Later in the inning, Cyrus scored on a fielder’s choice by Daniel Jester to complete the scoring.
Joe Kearney-Argow threw four no-hit innings to pick up the win for Washington and lead-off man Sean Connole was a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored to lead the Shoreman. Washington’s offensive effort was aided by seven Bobcat errors and ten walks.
Cody Ellsworth took the loss for Frostburg. David O’Brien pitched two scoreless innings, and Andrew Rodgers, Tico Mendoza, and A.J. Rosenthal all added a scoreless inning of work.
The Bobcats fall to 5-4 with the loss, while Washington improved to 5-1. FSU returns to Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday when they travel to rival Salisbury for a three-game weekend set. Saturday’s doubleheader gets underway at 1:00 p.m.
