COLORADO SPRING, Colo. – Three different players recorded three points each, but the Frostburg State women’s lacrosse team suffered a 19-9 loss to Babson College, Monday afternoon on its spring break trip to Colorado.

The loss drops the Bobcats to 3-4 overall on the season while the Beavers even their season mark at 2-2.
Sophomore Katelyn Kesecker scored three goals, junior Chelsea Feeney handed out three assists and senior Ali Kapustin scored twice and had one assist. Kesecker has scored at least three goals in four games this season and leads the team with 16 goals in seven games this spring. Feeney has handed out at least one assist in each of the last six games and leads the squad with 11 this season.
Frostburg State scored three goals in the first half, but Babson took control of the contest with 12 in the opening stanza.
Kesecker scored the game’s first goal 33 seconds into action, but the Beavers answered with three straight for a 3-1 lead at 23:44.
A minute later, Bobcat sophomore Malory Brunett scored off a pass from Feeney to bring FSU within one, 3-2, but Babson answered with nine goals for a 12-2 lead with just 1:27 remaining until halftime.
Brunett scored her second of the half with 1:03 showing as the Bobcats trailed 12-3 at the break.
Babson opened the second half with another run, this time a 4-0 spurt that increased its lead to 16-3.
FSU held the scoring advantage over the remainder of the contest, outscoring Babson 6-3. The Bobcats collected their own 4-0 run to trim the deficit to 16-7 with 11:05 left in the second. Kesecker started the run with back-to-back goals while Kapustin and junior Taylor Cassatt scored the final two.
Sophomore Megan White scored at 6:51 while Kapustin added her second of the half with just 1:49 to play.
Babson outshot FSU 31-20 and led 16-13 in ground balls. The Beavers also led in draw controls (16-13). Nine different players scored for the Beavers as Jameson Spang led the way with four goals and two assists. Colleen Mulligan finished with four goals and one assist.
Frostburg State will play Colorado College in the second game of its spring break trip on Wednesday at 1:00 pm.
