SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury University pounded out 17 hits and beat the Frostburg State baseball team 16-4, to take the three-game series between the Capital Athletic Conference rivals on Sunday afternoon at Salisbury.

Frostburg trailed 8-4 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Salisbury lineup exploded for eight runs on five hits to put the game out of reach.
Salisbury jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a single by Quinn Griffith and a bases loaded walk by Evan Graci.
John Barrett led off the second inning for the Bobcats with a double and Adam Summerfelt followed with an RBI single to get FSU on the board. Salisbury would answer with a run in the bottom of the third to make the
score 3-1.
Frostburg rallied to tie the score in the fourth inning. Garrett Price led off the inning with a walk and Summerfelt smacked a one out single. Adam Baxley was hit by a pitch to load the bases for J.K. Filauro who reached on an infield single to plate Price. Summerfelt scored from second on the play on a throwing error by the shortstop.
The Sea Gulls answered with three more runs in the bottom of the inning to give them a 7-3 lead. Frostburg tacked on a run in the fifth as Pat Sapp scored on a groundball double play. However, the Bobcats could not muster anymore offense against the Salisbury bullpen.
Danny Druzgala pitched three scoreless innings of relief to earn his second victory of the season. Joe Markiewicz Jr. took the loss for the Bobcats after allowing six runs in four innings of work.
Summerfelt and Doug Anuszewski both had two hits for FSU, while senior Tyler Bennett went 4-for-5 with two doubles and a two-run bomb to lead the Sea Gulls
Frostburg (6-6, 2-3 CAC) hits the diamond again on Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader against Pitt-Greensburg. First pitch at Bob Wells Field is at 1:00 p.m.
