FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Frostburg State University women's lacrosse team lost on the road at No. 19 Mary Washington, 23-12, Saturday afternoon.

Rachel Dwyer (Elkridge, Md./Long Reach) then scored to pull the Bobcats to 5-2 with 22:47 remaining in the first half, but that would be as close as the they would get. The Bobcats (4-10, 3-4) put a stop to a 7-2 run by the Eagles with junior
Ali Kapustin's (Columbia, Md./Marriots Ridge) second goal of the half with 37 seconds to play. All told, Mary Washington took a 12-5 lead into the intermission.
Sophomore
Taylor Cassatt (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) cut the lead to 12-6 with with her second goal of the game on a free position shot 1:33 in. Mary Washington netted the next three before Cassatt and Kapustin went back-to-back to make the score 15-8. Cassatt and Kapustin each had three goals. Cassatt added seven draw controls, while Kapustin had two assists.
Freshman
Malory Brunett (Clarksville, Md./River Hill) led the team with four goals, three coming in the second half.
The Bobcats continue Capital Athletic Conference action on Tuesday when they travel to York (Pa.) at 4:00 p.m.
