After Stevenson was able to double up Price and senior Matt Greene (Westminster, Md./South Carroll), classmates Corey Carr (McHenry, Md./Northern Garrett) and Matt Ridenour (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) hit back-to-back singles to put two runners on. Junior John Barrett (Alexandria, Va./Thomas Edison (Hagerstown)) walked to load the bases, but the Mustang pitching staff was able to get out of a bases loaded jam to end the inning and the Bobcat scoring threat.

The Mustangs added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 5-0 lead. The Bobcats were able to get two runs back in the top of the seventh. With two outs, freshman Tyler Hawthorne (Wilmington, Del./Alexis I. Dupont) reached first and advanced to second on a Mustang error and gave new life to the Bobcats. Senior Daniel Heatwole (Dayton, Va./Turner Ashby) singled to right field to plate Hawthorne. Classmate Scott Wilson (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) hit a pinch-hit single to put runners on the corners for Price. Price singled up the middle to score Heatwole but the Bobcats two-out rally ended there with the final score 5-2.

Senior Britton Quayle (Severna Park, Md.//Severna Park) endured the loss for the Bobcats pitching only 3.1 innings giving up seven hits with all five runs charged to him. Quayle struck out three and walked two batters.

The Bobcats used the late-inning rally of the first game to open the second with a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Junior Shane Boyd (Gaithersburg, Md./Damascus) led of the game with a walk and stole second to put himself in scoring position. With two outs, Carr doubled to right field and Boyd came around to score.

Stevenson answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 2-1 lead. The Bobcats answered with three runs of their own in the third on two hits and two Mustang errors. Price led off with a double to right field and Greene reached on a fielder’s choice. An error by the Mustang third baseman allowed Greene to advance to second and put Price at third. Carr was hit by a pitch to load the bases and Ridenour singled through the middle to score Price and Greene and give the Bobcats the lead back, 3-2. Junior Adam Summerfelt (Gambrills, Md./Archbishop Spalding) reached on a fielder’s choice to put runners on the corners. Hawthorne was able to reach on the second error of the inning by the third baseman and Carr crossed the plate to put Frostburg up 4-2.

The Mustangs got two runs back and tied the game at four a piece in the bottom of the fourth.
