The Bobcats (11-8, 8-7) put up four runs in the first inning, which to be enough to down the Spartans (5-13, 4-8) in the twin bill opener. Freshman Matt Donaldson (Garrett, Pa./Meyersdale) led off the game with a double left center to start off an impressive day for the rookie. Kyle Cook reached on a infield single to load the bases, but Ross was get the final two Spartans to go down swinging and end the Spartans scoring chance.

The Bobcats answered all three of the last Spartans runs in the bottom of the fourth with Donaldson’s first home run of the season. Hawthorne opened the frame with a double to center field and Heatwole reached on error by the third baseman on a sacrifice attempt.
