Bobcats Fall As St. Mary's Keys Big First Half

ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. – The Frostburg State women’s lacrosse team lost to St. Mary’s, 13-9, despite a strong second half rally that fell short, Saturday.

Box Score

The Bobcats (1-2, 1-2) surrendered 11 first half goals behind a 7-0 Seahawk run that covered the final 24:35 of the opening period.

FSU jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead inside the first 1:30 of action and had the early momentum. However, St. Mary’s (2-1, 2-1) answered with four-consecutive goals for a 4-2 lead in the next two minutes of play.

Sophomore Taylor Cassatt (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) narrowed the gap to 4-3 with her second goal of the game at 25:31, but St. Mary’s ran off seven-straight goals for an 11-3 halftime lead.
