FROSTBURG, Md. – Twelve different players netted a goal as the Frostburg State women's lacrosse team ran past Division II Shepherd University, 19-6, on senior day, Saturday afternoon.

FSU (9-7) led SU (2-13) in shots (32-19), ground balls (35-27) and clears (19-10) while the Rams held a slight edge in draw controls (13-12).
The Bobcats jumped to an early 6-0 lead over Shepherd in the first 13 minutes of the game after scoring six-consecutive goals, aided by two goals from senior
Ali Zinnel (Chestertown, Md./Kent County), and one goal each from junior
Megan Dent-Carman (LaVale, Md./Mercersburg Academy), sophomore
Ali Kapustin (Columbia, Md./Marriots Ridge) and freshmen
Taylor Cassatt (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) and
Chelsea Feeney (Damascus, Md./Damascus).
At 15:36, Nicole Ruane netted the Rams' first goal off a free position shot, 6-1, and less than a minute later Fenney scored her second goal of the game off an assist from freshman Jenny Davis (Herndon, Va./Herndon) to put Frostburg State up by six goals for the second time, 7-1. With 13:13 remaining in the half, Carly Jones netted a goal to cut the FSU advantage to five after being fed a pass from Ruane, 7-2.
The Bobcats scored six-straight goals beginning at the 8:22 mark and ending at the 2:46 mark to give it a 11-point advantage over the Rams, 13-2. Kapustin netted two goals over this span while seniors

With 1:06 left in the half, Ruane netted her second goal of the game, 13-3, and with less than 20 seconds remaining sophomore
Joanna McIntire (Damascus, Md./Damascus) scored a goal on a free position shot to give the score 14-3 going into the break.
Less than six minutes into the second half, senior
Marissa Henderson (Pasadena, Md./Northeast) netted her first goal of the season on a free position shot to give the Bobcats a 12-point lead, 15-3. At 14:31, Kaitlyn Drake scored on a free position to bring the Rams within 11 goals, 15-4.
With 11:39 left in regulation,
Myra Derbyshire (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) netted her first goal of the game off an assist from Davis, 16-4, and just over one minute later Ruane scored a goal, giving the score 16-5. The Bobcats scored three-straight goals to push its lead to 14 goals, 19-5, aided by two goals from senior
Kelly Meinecke (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport) and one goal from Hildebrand.
In the last four seconds of the game, Ruane netted her fourth goal of the game to give the end score 19-6.
Kapustin and Feeney both had three goals from Frostburg State along with two goals from Hildebrand, Meinecke and Zinnel while Davis had a season-high five assists. Ruane led scoring for SU with four goals while Jones and Drake each posted one in the loss.

Tori Butts (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) stopped five shots in the win splitting time with freshman
Naomi Swann (Arbutus, Md./Lansdowne) who posted two saves, while Ram goalie Karen Sutphin recorded 11 saves in the loss.
FSU ends its regular season with a record of 9-7 and waits to see if it will receive an ECAC tournament bid.
