FROSTBURG, Md. – Sophomore
Joanna McIntire (Damascus, Md./Damascus) recorded five goals but it proved to be not enough as the Frostburg State women's lacrosse team fell to Lynchburg College, 16-11, Saturday afternoon.

Jenny Davis (Herndon, Va./Herndon) each chipped in one goal of their own in the loss. Zinnel also handed out two assists while Frank and sophomore
Ali Kapustin (Columbia, Md./Marriots Ridge) each recorded one.
LC (2-1) jumped out to an early 4-1 lead over FSU (1-1) after scoring three consecutive goals less than six minutes into play. The Bobcats rallied back to within one point over the next three minutes after goals from both Hildebrand and Zinnel, 4-3.
In the remainder of the first half, the Hornets used a 7-2 scoring spurt to lead Frostburg State 11-5 going into the break, aided by three goals from Morgan Logue and two goals from Katie Ollice.
Frostburg State opened the second half with a 4-1 scoring run just over five minutes into play to cut the six point Hornet deficit to three, 12-9.
At the 10:40 mark, LC netted the first of its three-straight goals when Lesley Buckingham scored an unassisted goal, 13-9. Goals from Ollice and Patty Sheahan enlarged the Hornet lead to six with 6:24 left in regulation, 15-9.
Frank netted her goal with just over six minutes left in play to bring the game to within five goals, 15-10, but with less than three minutes remaining, Julie Will scored a goal for Lynchburg, 16-10, to push the Hornet lead back to six. Cassatt netted her only goal of the game with less than a minute left to play to give the end score, 16-11.
Sophomore
Tori Butts (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) recorded 14 saves in the loss for the Bobcats while Christina Tran picked up the win for LC with seven saves on the day.
Leading the scorers for the Hornets was Logue with five goals while Ollice posted three. Logue also led the team in assists with two and Ollice, Will and Lindsay Gengras all chipped in one.
Frostburg State returns to the field at home in Bobcat Stadium on March 9 when it plays Allegheny at 7:00 pm.
