FROSTBURG, Md. – Nine different players scored a goal and a second half rally was stopped short by Susquehanna as it defeated Frostburg State, 17-14, in women's lacrosse, Saturday afternoon.

SU (6-1) used the first 14 minutes of the opening half to take a 4-1 lead and later surged to a 10-3 lead with a 6-2 run using 10 minutes just after the midway point in the period to take control.
FSU (2-7) collected three-straight goals at the end of the first and start of the second halves to narrow the deficit to 10-6, but the Crusaders then used a 6-1 run to open a 16-7 lead with 20:24 to play in the game.
The Bobcats closed out the scoring with a 7-1 run of their own over the final 17:09 to bring the final count to 17-14.
Junior
Elisabeth Hildebrand (Frederick, Md./Walkersville) led the scoring for Frostburg State with five points, inculding her second four-goal game of the season. Freshman
Joanna McIntire (Damascus, Md./Damascus) pushed her scoring streak to four games as she scored three goals and now has 12 during that span. Senior
Meredith Martin (Fairfax, Va./WT Woodson) and freshman
Rachel Frank (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) each added two goals.
Sarah Wright led Susquehanna with four scores followed by Ally Bauer with three goals and two assists. The Crusaders led in shots (37-29), ground balls (44-42) and draw controls (18-15).
Senior
Erin Morrell (Easton, Md./Easton) and freshman
Tori Butts (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) split time in net for FSU on the afternoon. Morrell allowed 10 goals and stopped six shots while Butts made four saves and gave up seven goals. SU keeper Meredith Tompeck made four saves in the win.
Frostburg State returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts St. Vincent at 4:00 pm.
