Theresa Walton enters her first season as the Head Coach for the Women's Lacrosse program for the 2026-27 academic year.
Prior to Frostburg, Walton served as the as head coach for Division I Old Dominion University from 2023-26. During this time, Walton amassed 19 wins, including eight victories in 2024, the program's most in a season since 2017. Prior to joining the Monarchs, she served as the first-ever head coach at Division I Youngstown State from 2021-22. After earning two wins in the program's inaugural season, Walton led the Penguins to a 10-8 mark in their second year, winning a share of the Mid-American Conference Championship and securing Coach of the Year honors in the process.
Before taking the helm at YSU, Walton was an assistant coach at Division I VCU, Division II Mount Olive, and Division III Alma, primarily working with defensive units. A native of Syracuse, NY, Walton earned her bachelor's degree in communications at Division I Canisius College and helped lead the Griffins to back-to-back Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women's lacrosse titles, including the first title in school history. She earned MAAC All-Tournament honors during Canisius' first title run, tallying 42 goals and eight assists for 50 points during her career.
