Katie Beeman joins the Frostburg State Softball program as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the 2024-25 season. Katie brings an impressive blend of collegiate playing experience and coaching experience to the Bobcats, making her a valuable addition to the coaching staff.
A standout athlete at West Liberty University, Katie earned NCAA Division II All-Atlantic Region honors in 2021 as a centerfielder. She was a two-time All-Mountain East Conference (MEC) selection and a three-time MEC All-Academic Team honoree. Among her many accomplishments, Katie was named the 2019 MEC Tournament MVP and was a cornerstone of her team's success. In her senior year, she started all 54 games, posting a remarkable .361 batting average with a .550 slugging percentage, .404 on-base average, and seven home runs, while leading the team with 39 RBIs. She was also an elite defensive player, completing the season without a single error in the outfield.
After her collegiate playing career, Katie transitioned into coaching, serving as the head softball coach at Buckeye Local High School (OH) in 2024, following a year as the assistant coach in 2023. Her leadership and experience were instrumental in developing young talent at the high school level.
A native of Frankfort, West Virginia, where she earned all-state honors as an outfielder at Frankfort High School, Katie has returned to the area to pursue her passion for teaching, working full-time as an elementary school teacher.
