Head Coach Stuart Swink has been a mainstay at the helm of the Frostburg State men’s and women’s tennis programs for the past nine seasons and enters his 10th season with the women in the fall of 2011.

Swink has led the Bobcat women to a 40-79 record during his tenure with 24 wins in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. Swink had his women’s squad on the verge of claiming the top spot in the AMCC after finishing second at the league championships in each of the final two years. Swink’s Bobcats also finished second in the conference in overall wins in both 2008 and 2009.

Swink led Frostburg to the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament in its first year as a member of the league in 2010-11. The Bobcats finished 5-9 overall and earned the sixth seed in the league tournament.

Swink had his best season at the helm in 2009 as FSU tied the school record with 12 wins (12-4). The 2009 Bobcats also tied the 1998 squad for the most wins in the AMCC (9). Seven players were named to the All-AMCC team, the most in Swink’s tenure, including the league’s Newcomer of the Year Megan Martin.

In 2008, the Bobcats finished 8-8 overall and 5-2 in the AMCC. FSU finished second at the conference championships, second in the league in total wins and placed six on the All-AMCC teams.

In his previous six seasons, Swink led FSU to 20 wins and third place finishes in the AMCC in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006. He totaled 15 players on the All-AMCC teams, including six in 2006.

Swink joined the FSU coaching staff after enjoying great success at the high school and junior college levels. He coached both the Potomac State (W.Va.) College men's and women's teams from 2000 to 2002.

He led the Catamount women to back-to-back Region XX (20) titles and consecutive bids to the NJCAA National Tournament, while his men's team won the region crown and qualified for the national tournament in 2001.

Swink served as the Director of Tennis at the Rawlings Heights Racquet Club from 1985-1995 before moving to the high school ranks in 1997 as head women's coach at Keyser. In his only season, he led the Tornadoes to conference, regional and state team championships and was named PVC Coach of the Year.

He then became head coach of the Keyser boys team in 1999 and guided the squad to the conference team title as well as a regional doubles championship. He earned his second PVC Coach of the Year honor for his efforts.

Swink is a member of the United States Tennis Association and United States Professional Tennis Registry.
