Emily McDonough is in her second season as a graduate assistant with the Frostburg State softball team in 2017-18.
In the 2017 season, McDonough helped lead the Bobcats to 24 wins (24-15) and a second-place regular-season finish in the Capital Athletic Conference. Frostburg led the conference and ranked 11th nationally in fielding percentage (0.973) and had four players named to the All-CAC First Team.
McDonough is pursuing her master’s in school counseling at Frostburg after graduating from St. Bonaventure University with her bachelor’s degree in sports studies. While at St. Bonaventure, McDonough was a four-year starting shortstop for the Bonnies and served as an intern in the SBU athletic department.
In her four years at SBU, she served as a captain and as the Bonnies leadoff hitter to combine for a career batting average of over .380. McDonough is also the all-time leader in hits and the single-season hits leader at St. Bonaventure.
Along with her playing career, she gained internship experience with the Saugerties Stallions in ticket operations and a marketing internship with The Beach League.
