Denny Lydon has joined the Frostburg State track & field and cross country coaching staffs for his first year in 2016-17.
 
Prior to Frostburg, Lydon ran for Plum High School in Plum, Pa. and helped the cross country team to its first section championship and first appearance in the state championship in program history in 2009.
 
Lydon graduated from Penn State Behrend in May 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in finance and international business. As a student, he was a member of the Behrend Honors Program, was a two-time Dean’s List student and was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society.
 
He was a four-time Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) All-Academic honoree, including a Chi Alpha Sigma Athlete Honor Society honoree as both a junior and senior. He was also named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team during his final two years.
 
As a member of the Penn State Behrend cross country team, Lydon helped the squad to three-consecutive AMCC Championships from 2011-13. During his senior campaign, Lydon captured the AMCC individual championship and was named the league’s Runner of the Year.
