Nick Rosser

Nick Rosser enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Frostburg State football team in 2020 and he will work with cornerbacks.
 
Last year, Rosser served as the defensive backs coach, defensive passing game coordinator and special teams coordinator for Spotsylvania High School.
 
Rosser was a defensive backs coach and defensive passing game coordinator for the University of Virginia-Wise from 2016-19. Rosser instantly improved the Wise passing coverage, helping the squad rank 32nd nationally in passing yards allowed after his second season and 18th in the nation following his third season. In just three seasons, the defense allowed 150 fewer yards and finished the season ranked 19th in total defense.
 
Following the ’17 season, Wise held opponents to just 45.4 percent passing, the third best mark nationally. In his three seasons, he coached four All-Mountain East Conference honorees.
 
Prior to Wise, Rosser was a defensive quality control coach and defensive backs assist for NCAA Division I James Madison University (JMU). The Dukes finished as CAA Co-Champions that season with a 9-3 overall record and earned the fifth seed in the NCAA FCS Playoffs.
 
Rosser got his start in coaching in 2005 at King George High School. During his two seasons, Rosser served in numerous roles in defensive backs coach, wide receivers coach, running backs coach and special teams coordinator.
 
Rosser is a 2003 graduate of JMU where he earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. He was a two-year member of the football team in 2000 and 2001, earning a varsity letter in ’00.
