Josh Volpe

Josh Volpe will join the Frostburg State University football coaching staff on the sidelines in 2012 after a standout playing career for the last four years.

On the field, Volpe played quarterback for the Bobcats and was a three-year starter. However this fall, he will broaden his horizons as he will assist head coach Tom Rogish’s staff by working with the defensive backs.

During his career, Volpe left his mark on the record books and earned numerous postseason awards.

He is FSU’s all-time leader in career completion percentage (59.6%) after connecting on over 57.0 percent of his passes in every season with the Bobcats. He is third all-time in passing yards (4,681) and completions (396), fourth in career pass attempts (664) and fifth in touchdowns passes (31).

Volpe also holds the school record with six touchdown passes in a single game against Alfred last fall and he holds three of the top five marks for completion percentage in a single season.

In 2011, Volpe was voted as Frostburg’s Sportsman of the Year representative for the Empire 8 Athletic Conference while he garnered Second Team All-Atlantic Central Football Conference honors as a junior. Volpe was a three-time ACFC Academic selection and was nominated for the 2011 Allstate American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Good Works team.

Volpe graduated this past May with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from FSU. He is currently pursuing his master’s in business administration.
