Day One

Frostburg State 3, Eastern Mennonite 0 - (25-17, 25-11, 25-12)
Frostburg State senior outside hitter Jamie Thomas (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) set the single match school record for aces with 11 as the Bobcats swept the Royals in three games (3-0). Thomas broke Carrie Ness' mark of nine set in August 2002. Along with the 11 aces, Thomas added 11 kills and 11 digs. Senior Sarah Stephens (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) added nine kills and 11 digs, while junior Christine Barnes (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) had a pair of aces, five digs and one block. Eastern Mennonite was led by senior Elisa Troyer's 13 digs, junior Julyanna Anderson's 15 assists, and freshman Brittany Childress' 11 digs.

Geneva 3, Gallaudet 1 - (25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 25-23)
Geneva right side hitter Rachel Kuegler recorded 11 kills to lead the Golden Tornadoes to a 3-1 opening round win over Gallaudet at the Frostburg State Tournament. Geneva sophomore Kristland McCracker was right behind Kuegler with nine kills while senior Adriane Blake put up seven kills and 27 digs. Junior Brianna Mixter handed out 15 assists in the four games while adding 35 digs of her own. Geneva took the deciding game 25-23 after trailing 23-22 with a 5-0 run behind the sevice of senior Laura Zerbe. 

Capital 3, North Carolina Wesleyan 1 (25-18, 22-25, 26-24, 25-23)
Capital freshman Sanaya El-Naggar pounded home her 15th kill of the game to give the Crusaders a hard-fought, four set win over North Carolina Wesleyan. After winning the third set in extended play, Capital led North Carolina Wesleyan, 20-9, in the fourth before the Battling Bishops rattled off 10 consecutive points to make things very interesting before the Crusaders eventually clinched the match. North Carolina Wesleyan was led by junior Mackenzie Tingle, who finished with 18 assists and 15 digs. Senior Kelly George had 28 digs, while sophomore Meredith Smith had 13 kills. Capital freshman Elissa Foster had 39 digs.

Susquehanna 3, Marietta 1 - (21-25, 25-20, 35-33, 25-20)
Behind senior Lindsey Jankiewicz and sophmore Emily Carson, Susquehanna University won its first game of the Frostburg State Volleyball tournament over Marietta College, 3-1. Jankiewicz and Carson each posted 16 kills in the four game match while junior Shona St. Angelo handed out 45 assists. Carson also paced SU in digs with 19. Junior Meredith Storey lead Marietta in kills with 12 while sophomore Ally Jenkins handed out 34 assits. Sophmore Jen Braun lead both teams in digs with 31.

Frostburg State 3, Capital 1 (25-18, 21-25, 25-20, 25-10)
Frostburg State remained undefeated on the season with a four set win over Capital. Junior Sabrina Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) had 11 kills and five blocks. Junior Kylie Carrington (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) had 44 assists and three blocks. Sarah Stephens had 20 kills, while Jamie Thomas had 10 kills and two aces.

Geneva 3, Marietta 0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-22)
Geneva earned its second win of the day with a 3-0 win over Marietta. The Golden Tornadoes were led by junior Brianna Mixter, with 39 assists. Also contributing in the victory were Paige Banyas' with 19 digs, along with junior Rachel Kuegler and senior Adriane Blake adding 12 and 10 kills, respectively.

North Carolina Wesleyan 3, Eastern Mennonite 0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-19)
N.C. Wesleyan took down Eastern Mennonite in straight sets in the final game on court one, Friday night. The Battling Bishops captured game one 25-21 and then posted back-to-back 25-19 wins to finsh day one 1-1.

Susquehanna 3, Gallaudet 0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-20)
In the final match of the opening day, Susquehanna posted a 3-0 shutout victory over Gallaudet. The Crusaders capped day one with a 2-0 record after finishing off the Bison by scores of 25-21, 25-22 and 25-20.

Day Two
Frostburg State 3, North Carolina Wesleyan 0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-16)
Frostburg State completed round-robin play with a 3-0 record after sweeping North Carolina Wesleyan. The Bobcats were led by Kylie Carrington (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock), who had 31 assists. Junior Amber Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) notched five aces. North Carolina Wesleyan was led by senior Barbara DeRatt's five kills, senior Kelly George's 19 digs, and junior Mackenzie Tingle's nine assists. The Battling Bishops finished round-robin with a 1-2 mark. Frostburg State will face Geneva in the tournament's championship game at 4:00 pm.

Geneva 3, Susquehanna 0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-21)
Geneva completed a perfect round-robin with a three set win over Susquehanna. The Golden Tornadoes got 37 assists and 22 digs from junior Brianna Mixter. Senior Adriane Blake added 14 kills and 24 digs in the victory. Susquehanna was led by senior Lindsey Jankiewicz, who had 12 kills. Sophomore Dana Kreutzer had 11 digs. Susquehanna dropped to 2-1 in the tournament.

Capital 3, Eastern Mennonite 0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-17)
Capital earned its second win of the tournament with a three set sweep over Eastern Mennonite. Capital was led by freshmen Tara Luth (nine kills) and Sanaya El-Naggar (8 kills). Junior Emily Heitmeyer added eight kills, while freshman Elissa Foster chipped in with 16 digs. For the Eastern Mennonite Royals, senior Elisa Troyer led the way with 12 kills and senior Monika Burkholder added 11. Freshman Jessica Goertzen had 19 assists and freshman Brittany Childress had 13 digs.

Gallaudet 3, Marietta 1 (31-29, 25-17, 24-26, 25-23)
In the final match of the round-robin portion of the tournament, Gallaudet outlasted Marietta in four sets with two of the sets taking extra time. Gallaudet earned their first victory of the tournament with a solid effort from sophomore Ann Whited, who had 16 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore Mari Klassen had 14 kills and 14 digs. Marietta had 35 assists from sophomore Ally Jenkins, while junior Elizabeth Robbe had 12 digs, 10 kills, and an ace.

Marietta 3, Eastern Mennonite 0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-19)
Marietta earned a three set victory over Eastern Mennonite in the final tournament game for each team. Marietta sophomore Ally Jenkins paced the Pioneers with 33 assists, while a trio of Pioneers paced the blanced offensive attack. Freshman Paige DeVriendt led the way with nine kills, while sophomore Alex Van Gundy and freshman Kathryn Hanssen had seven each. Junior Tabitha Bowman led Eastern Mennonite with 14 kills. Freshman Brittany Childress and senior Elisa Troyer had seven digs apiece.

North Carolina Wesleyan 3, Gallaudet 2 (20-25, 25-18, 25-7, 23-25, 15-10)
In the first five-set match of the tournament, North Carolina Wesleyan outlasted Gallaudet to take home the victory. Senior Kelly George had 31 digs for the victorious Battling Bishops, while junior Mackenzie Tingle had 21 assists. Sophomore Meredith Smith had 10 kills. Junior Micaela Paulone had 18 digs and 39 assists to lead the Bison. Joining her were sophomore Ann Whited (17 digs, 16 kills), sophomore Mari Klassen (18 digs, 16 kills), and sophomore Lauren Benedict (23 digs).

Susquehanna 3, Capital 0 (25-18, 32-30, 25-23)
Susquehanna defeated Captial in a long three-game match. Susquehanna took the first game seemingly quickly after getting into a late game groove and defeating CU 25-18. The middle game of the match went back and forth as SU needed 32 points to defeat Capital. Once again, the teams were as evenly matched as it comes, went back and forth on points until the final serve for SU dropped over the net for an ace to finish the game 25-23. Shona St. Angelo led SU with 33 assits and 12 digs while Lindsay Jankiewicz had 13 kills and Emily Carson had 11. Sanaya El-Naggar led Capital with 12 kills and 12 digs while Elissa Foster posted 17 digs. Alyssa Angle handed out 32 assits for Capital.

Championship Match
Frostburg State 3, Geneva 0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-22)
The Frostburg State volleyball team captured their second-straight tournament title after slipping past Geneva 3-0 in the FSU Tournament Championship, late Saturday afternoon. Last weekend, the Bobcats tied for first place with Eastern at the Haverford Tournament. FSU finished both tournaments a perfect 4-0 and sits at 10-0 overall on the year.

Senior Sarah Stephens recorded 15 kills, 11 digs and two aces while junior Amber Winterling had 16 digs, seven kills and one block. Junior Kylie Carrington distributed 34 assists and added 11 digs for FSU.

Adriane Blake powered the Golden Tornadoes with 10 kills followed by Maggie Bowersox with five kills and three blocks. Brianna Mixter led the way with 25 assista dn 11 digs.
