ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – The Frostburg State Men's Lacrosse team fell 20-8 in the ECC Championship game to Molloy on the road Saturday afternoon.

MU couldn't have asked for a better start, as they took the opening face-off and netted within 35 seconds. That would be their kick-start to a dominant first four minutes, as they scored a stunning five more goals in that frame to lead 6-0. FSU struggled to keep hold of the ball, turning it over three times while the Lions put home a trio of goals to push their advantage out to nine. Junior Ryder Walter and sophomore Brody Monroe picked up caused turnovers, eventually leading to the first Bobcat shot from junior Hayden Celio, who was denied by John Basile in net.

With Molloy earning another face-off win to start the second, junior Lukasz Barmosz made three consecutive saves to limit some damage. Continuing their rolling offense, MU scored twice 25 seconds apart to take the lead to 11-0. Still looking to find their opening goal, Frostburg found their groove five minutes into the period, as after junior Luke Roach saw a shot saved, classmate Henry Sykes took advantage of a Celio assist. Roach then turned provider to junior Jack Hooks, while Sykes found junior Logan Yost to get the deficit down to 11-3. Over the next three minutes, Barmosz made another trio of saves while senior Will Stephanos caused a turnover. On a man-up advantage, Molloy hit the post and twice fired wide before scoring, as they ended the half with another goal for a 13-3 lead.

Barmosz produced two stops early in the third before the Lions netted their 14
th of the day, as FSU wouldn't get a shot off until six minutes in, where Celio found Roach for a man-up goal. Both goalkeepers combined for five saves in the next six minutes, with Molloy putting home the final goal of the quarter to go up 15-4.

Continuing to stand out defensively, Barmosz caused a turnover to open the fourth, as senior Sean Mullineaux passed to Roach, however MU answered back a minute later. With the sides trading turnovers, the Lions put two more scores home in the next 30 seconds, growing the lead out to 13. Freshman Keegan Green put his name on the score sheet in quick succession, then out of a Bobcat timeout, Roach found Celion for an 18-7 score. Molloy peppered Frostburg's goal until finding a way past Barmosz, then after two Basile saves, scored their 20
th with just under three minutes to go. As time ticked down, FSU put one more shot home, as Celio assisted Mullineaux for a 20-8 final.

Celio and Roach led the offense with four points apiece, as Walter produced five caused turnovers and four groundballs.

With the loss, Frostburg ends their regular season at 11-7, while Molloy improves to 14-3. FSU now will await to see if they will be picked to go to the NCAA Regional Tournament, with the selection show airing on Sunday, May 3 at 10 p.m.
