The Bobcats increased their lead to 4-0 when junior Luke Roach assisted classmate Henry Sykes for the final goal of the period.
Scoring in the second wouldn't come until the back third of play, helped out by both netminders standing tall in goal. Smith made a trio of saves in helping the Bobcats stave off a pair of penalties, with D'Youville matching at the other end. After the Saints hit the post and were again denied by Smith before finally getting on the board with 6:26 to play, making the score 4-1. The Bobcats would then respond with three goals of their own in quick succession. Senior Graham Allison would net the first and be followed up by both Sykes and Roach for a 7-1 score.
FSU would add a quick goal right out of half, with Roach feeding Sykes to go up seven. The Saints would push back into the game, scoring three straight goals while holding the Bobcats without a shot through the first half of the frame and making the sore 8-4. Frostburg would control the final five minutes of the third, reestablishing their control, as junior Logan Yost would score twice in 40 seconds to make it 10-4. With time expiring in the period, Celio would find Mullineaux for a last-second goal, pushing the FSU lead back to seven.
Mullineaux would add to his impressive day, scoring twice in the first two minutes of the fourth quarter. Frostburg was held in check by a trio of D'Youville saves until graduate Tyrin Long would add a goal six minutes later. The Saints had a bit of late life, putting up two goals in the final five minutes to make the final score 14-6.
Viscount excelled in the face-off X, going 14-for-18 and collecting a team-high seven ground balls. Ryder and senior Matt Williams each recorded three caused turnovers to lead the defensive effort, while Mullineaux led all scorers with five points, while he, Sykes, and Celio each finished with three goals.
