JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Frostburg State Men's Wrestling team dropped their road dual 38-11 against fifth-ranked Pitt-Johnstown Friday evening.

UPJ began the meet with the nation's top-ranked 125 lb wrestler in Trevon Gray, who gave them a 19-4 tech fall. FSU countered with its own No. 1 in freshman Tanner Halling at 133, who answered with a 17-0 tech fall of his own to tie the match at 5-5.

The Mountain Cats quickly took control with a forfeit at 141 and a pinfall at 149 to lead 17-5. Redshirt senior Nico D'Amico tried to get some momentum on the board at 157, securing a narrow 5-4 decision. Pitt-Johnstown wouldn't have any letdown, earning a tech fall, pinfall, and major decision at 165, 174, and 184 to push their lead out to 32-8.

Senior Nick McCarthy earned the final Bobcat victory of the day with another close decision at 4-3 in the 197 bout. UPJ's Isaiah Vance, the second-ranked 285 wrestler nationally, won by pinfall in the final match of the day to secure the 38-11 victory.

With the loss, Frostburg drops to 6-6 on the year, while Pitt-Johnstown improves to 13-0. FSU will have a quick turnaround as the team will face off against Garrett College and Fairmont State on Saturday, Februrary 7 at 1 p.m. in McHenry, Md.
