BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Following a historic debut season, Tanner Halling was named the MEC Wrestling Freshman of the Year with the release of the conference's year-end awards.

Halling went 26-3 this season, becoming an MEC Champion and Regional Champion en route to taking Super Region 1 Rookie of the Year honors, and finished 6th at the NCAA DII Championships while earning All-American honors.
