4x400 Relay Team Earns Victory for Men's Track & Field at Youngstown Invite

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Frostburg State men's track team competed at the Youngstown Last Chance indoor meet on Friday with nine top five finishes on the day. 
 
The Bobcats' top finish came at the end of the day came from the 4x400 relay team of freshman Mason Worley, junior Justin Dowell and sophomores Jack Hynes and Ethan Wilt taking first at 3:25.24, FSU's best mark this season. Continuing in the sprints, freshman Cohen Arbogast took second in the 400m at 50.88, closely followed by Dowell hitting a PR for third place at 51.06. Freshman Morgon Corwine also hit a personal best in the 60m hurdles at 9.86. 
 
In the distance events, sophomore Gage Osborne had the top placement in second during the mile with a time of 4:25.02, then finished eighth in the 3k at 9:15.43, where junior Brandon Stein hit a personal high at 9:36.25. Also enjoying a career day was sophomore Ray Gibson (2:07.09) setting a new best time in the 800m, where classmate Isayah Stewart placed seventh overall at 1:58.62. 
 
FSU had a solid showing in the throw events, where sophomore Aubrey Russ landed at No. 8 on the program's all-time indoor list with a weight throw of 14.74m, which earned him fourth place on the day as the top DII finisher. He then joined a trio of Bobcats setting PR's in the shot put at 12.38m, led by sophomore Dalton Kasekamp (13.82m) and freshman Willie Washington (13.82m) in sixth and seventh, respectively.

During the field events, senior Tom McCoy was third in the pole vault at 4.87m, while freshman Blake Stevens set a personal best of 12.98m to put him in fourth in the triple jump, just ahead of senior Rondell Carlton (12.97m). With a mark of 6.52m freshman Dorian Grubb set a career best in taking fifth in the long jump.
