BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. - For the second consecutive week, sophomore Trey Simmons was named MEC Men's Basketball Co-Athlete of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, as announced by the league office. 

Simmons scored a season-high 36 points in leading the team to an 80-78 victory over Charleston, including scoring the game-winning basket with 1.6 seconds left. He shot 11-of-20 from the field, including 4-of-5 from three and made 10-of-11 free throws, setting a career-high in the latter category. In filling up the stat sheet, he added 3 assists, 2 blocks, and 3 steals in leading FSU to its first-ever win against UC.
