FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Men's Wrestling team closed out their home season with a 33-17 win over Davis & Elkins on Sunday afternoon.
 
Due to a forfeit at 125 lbs, FSU started out with a 6-0 lead in the meet, which junior Thierno Diallo doubled with a quick pin at 133 lbs. The Senators got their first points on the board with a narrow 12-9 decision at 141 lbs before another forfeit at 149 gave the Bobcats another six for an 18-3 meet advantage.
 
Freshman Mason Buckler kept the momentum going with a pinfall at 157 lbs, furthering the lead to 24-3. In attempting to stage a comeback, D&E pulled 11 total points back through a tech fall at 165 and a pinfall at 174, bringing the score to 24-14 Frostburg.
 
At 184 lbs, redshirt sophomore Nick McCarthy got the Bobcats back on track with an 8-3 decision victory. Davis & Elkins pulled out a 4-2 decision at 197 lbs but that would be their final score, as freshman Gavin Bage ended things with a pinfall at 285 for the final 33-17 win.
 
 
With the win, Frostburg improves to 13-12 on the year, while the Senators drop to 0-3. FSU returns to the mat for their final regular season dual of the season on the road at Glenville State on Thursday, February 22 at 4 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.

174 lbs: Gavin Rodriguez-Cayro (D&E) over Charlie Turney (FSU) pinfall 0:31 – FSU leads 24-14
184 lbs: Nick McCarthy (FSU) over Garrett Eddy (D&E) decision 8-3 – FSU leads 27-14
197 lbs: Josh Sanders (D&E) over William Applegarth (FSU) decision 4-2 – FSU leads 27-17
285 lbs: Gavin Bage (FSU) over Marshall Mounts (D&E) pinfall 1:31 – FSU wins 33-17
