BRISTOL, Tenn. - The Frostburg State Women's Wrestling had three competitors at the Tornado Open on Sunday in freshmen Aurora Walters, Jada Fowler, and Lillie Costilla.
In double-elimination brackets, Walters was first on the mat at 116 lbs, losing by pinfall in her first round before dropping a 10-0 tech fall decision in her next match. Fowler battled in her opening match but narrowly lost by a 4-1 decision. Fighting to keep her tournament alive, she ultimately fell by pin after two and a half minutes in the round. At 130 lbs, Costilla fell in her first match, but earned the lone FSU victory on the day, pinning her second round opponent in a minute thirty before eventually losing in her third match.
The women will next travel to Emmanuel on Sunday, January 21 for the Robert Horton Open in Franklin Springs, Ga. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
