MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team fell to Millersville on the road with a final score of 6-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Frostburg was successful in the doubles competition, taking all three matches. Sophomore Lorena Pintar and freshman Alyssa Kush won their doubles match in the No. 1 slot, with a close score of 7-5. The sophomore team of Mariaspa Kotsiou and Julia Ramos Bentham took their doubles match in a close score as well, 6-4. Seniors Madison Toothman and Immanuella Odiong brought home the final victory of the day for the Bobcats earning the 6-1 win in No. 3 doubles.
FSU struggled in singles play with solid efforts from Kush, who took her match to three sets falling 5-7, 6-2, 4-10, and Kotsiou coming up just shy of the victory as well, with a 6-7, 2-6 score.
With the loss, Frostburg drops to 11-10 on the year, while Millersville moves to 7-9. The Bobcats will have a quick turnaround once more, as they host Salem (WV) Monday, April 17 at 3 PM. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
