FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Men's Wrestling team maintained their undefeated start to the season with a convincing 41-8 win over Garrett College on Saturday night.

Freshman Alex Bellarin kicked off the meet at 125 lbs with a dominant 16-1 technical fall win to put the Bobcats ahead 5-0 after one match. Redshirt sophomore Dylan Montgomery followed up with a 15-2 major decision at 133 lbs to put FSU ahead by nine. The Lakers earned themselves a technical fall in 141 lbs, but Frostburg responded with freshman Gage Heilbrun winning 18-0 at 149 lbs for another technical fall.

The Bobcats dominated at 157, 165, and 174 lbs, as freshmen Mason Buckler, Liam DeBaugh, and Duncan Kammar all earned pin falls at their respective weights, giving FSU a massive 32-5 advantage. Garrett secured a decision at 184 lbs, but that would be the last of their scoring, as freshman William Applegarth scored a narrow 8-5 decision at 197 lbs, while freshman Gavin Bage made quick work at 285 lbs with a 17-second pin, ending the match 41-8 for the Bobcats.

With the win, Frostburg improves to 2-0 on the year, while the Lakers begin their season 0-1. The Bobcats stay in Bobcat Arena for a home meet on Wednesday, November 8 against Fairmont State. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
