CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Frostburg State Men's Swimming team defeated Davis & Elkins in their Saturday afternoon meet by a score of 140-65.

Despite the Senators taking the win in the 200-yard medley relay, FSU quickly got themselves an individual win, as junior Nate Canapp (10:09.67) and freshman Jack Bond (10:29.22) finished 1-2 in the 1000-yard freestyle. Canapp also took first in the 500-yard free with a time of 4:53.80, where he was followed by senior Noah Loper in second at 5:05.84.

Loper went on to win the 200-yard free in 1:49.52, as the Bobcats won each of the free sprint events. Senior Andy Creelman was victorious in the 50-yard free at 22.58, while sophomores Julian Najarro Sedar and Andrew Wetherhold took the top two spots in the 100-yard free at 48.46 and 51.11, respectively.

Freshman Dylan King added a win the 200-yard butterfly, while senior PJ Emrich earned himself a pair of second-place finishes in the 200-yard IM (2:03.60) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.38).

FSU rounded out the meet in strong fashion, as the team of Loper, Sedar, freshman Tory Reynolds, and junior Mikkel LeBlanc won the 200-yard free relay in 1:28.95, where they were followed by both of the other Bobcat relay teams for a 1-2-3 finish.

With the win, the men improve to 3-0, while D&E falls to 0-1. Frostburg returns to the pool on Saturday, October 28 at 1 p.m. for their home opener against Fairmont State in Bobcat Natatorium. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
