FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Men's Swimming team won their final home meet of the season after defeating Salem with a score of 137-125 on Saturday afternoon.
Prior to the meet, FSU honored its pair of seniors, as Myles Henderson and Quincy Page are wrapping up their Bobcat careers.Â
Sophomore Nate Canapp put the Bobcats on the board first as he took first in the 800-meter freestyle (8:59.79). In the next event, junior Noah Loper placed first in the 200-meter free (2:01.33). Canapp was able to capture another first place victory in the 400-meter free(4:20.66), as Loper took second in the 50-meter free (25.69).
Junior Jackson Miller finished in first for Frostburg in the 100-meter backstroke (1:02.59) and the 100-meter IM (1:01.66), then freshman Julian Najarro Sedar captured another victory for FSU in the 50-meter butterfly (26.22), along with a second place finish in the 100-meter butterfly (58.93).Â
Canapp, Miller, and Najarro Sedar's individual wins in the final three events secured the meet victory before the team of Loper, Miller, freshman Andrew Weterhold, and junior Andy Creelman finished off the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-meter freestyle relay (1:42.07).Â
With the win, Frostburg improves to 5-2 on the season. FSU will travel to Notre Dame (Ohio) on Saturday, January 28 for their final MEC meet of the regular season at 1PM. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
