SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State women's cross-country team opened their season at the Galen Piper Cross Country Challenge on Friday evening, earning a fifth-place finish.
The Bobcats went on the road to Shippensburg to run in a 4K evening race through the Raiders campus recreation fields under the lights. FSU placed all scoring runners in the top 34 and finished with a score of 130, with a total time of 1:25:38.
Freshman Alana Dyce-Giraud led FSU with a time of 15:58.6, which was good enough for seventh place among collegiate runners (10th overall). The Bobcats also had impressive performances from sophomore Amy Tarza in 28

In her first race at Frostburg, Dyce-Giraud posted the third-fastest time at the Challenge in FSU history.
