Dyce-Giraud Earns Top-10 Finish in Women's Cross Country Opener

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State women's cross-country team opened their season at the Galen Piper Cross Country Challenge on Friday evening, earning a fifth-place finish. 
 
The Bobcats went on the road to Shippensburg to run in a 4K evening race through the Raiders campus recreation fields under the lights. FSU placed all scoring runners in the top 34 and finished with a score of 130, with a total time of 1:25:38.
 
Freshman Alana Dyce-Giraud led FSU with a time of 15:58.6, which was good enough for seventh place among collegiate runners (10th overall). The Bobcats also had impressive performances from sophomore Amy Tarza in 28th (17:15.2), junior EllaRose Warnick 30th (17:24.1), sophomore Liz Stanley 31st (17:24.9), junior Hannah Muir 34th (17:34.7), sophomore Chelsea Montau 35th (17:56.1) and freshman Olivia Beal 36th (18:07.9).
 
In her first race at Frostburg, Dyce-Giraud posted the third-fastest time at the Challenge in FSU history.
