FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State Men's Soccer team hosted the No. 4-ranked Davis &Elkins Senators under the lights for a Wednesday evening game, falling 5-0.
The Senators struck early on with their first corner kick of the game, finding the bottom left of the goal off of a header in the fourth minute. Bobcat sophomore Brennan Moore made a terrific one-on-one save to stop a fast-paced Senator breakaway in the 10th minute to the keep the game to a score of 1-0. The Bobcats made their first offensive push to go on and earn their first corner of the game, but were unable to capitalize. Davis & Elkins would go on to add a second goal in the 17th minute of the for a 2-0 lead. Freshman Blake Hoskins entered the game and made his presence known, firing a shot slightly wide of the goal after some good pressing by the FSU forwards. The game went into halftime with a score of 2-0 in favor of the Senators.
Davis & Elkins once again stuck first in the second half off a header to make the score 3-0. Moore then made a trio of excellent saves to prevent another Senators goal. The Bobcats once again struggled to find momentum to create their offense, as D&E maintained the lion's share of possession. The Senators went on to score late goals in the 87th and 89th minutes to make the final score 5-0.
With the loss, Frostburg moves to 2-2-2 on the year, while the Senators now sit at 4-0 on the season.
