Women's Lacrosse Falls to Falcons on the Road

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - The Frostburg State women's lacrosse team traveled to to take on Notre Dame (Ohio) on Saturday afternoon in a 22-8 loss.

In the first quarter, the Falcons got off to a strong start, scoring the first goal of the game. Shortly after, junior Lilly Stephens would answer back with a goal to even the score. NDC would get a two-goal lead before graduate Stephanie King scored a free-position shot, followed by another goal from Stephens to get back to a 3-3 tie.The Falcons would take a three-goal lead before junior Cammie Schniedwind would get a great goal to get back within two. NDC would get the last goal of the quarter, however, making the game 7-4 going into the second.

In the second quarter, the Falcons would start off strong, getting two goals and pushing the lead to five, before King scored another goal to bring the score to. NDC went on another three-goal streak before freshman Sarah Allgaier would get the last goal before halftime, with the Falcons in the lead 12-6.

In the third quarter, the Falcons would get another strong start to push their lead to 15-6, before freshman Krissy Milburn stopped the streak with a free-position goal. Both teams went back-and-forth, with FSU getting a nice goal from King with the score at 16-8. The Falcons would get two more goals before the end of the quarter, to go into the fourth with the lead 18-8.

In the fourth quarter, it was all NDC, as they scored four times to Frostburg's zero, ending the game 22-8 and giving the Falcons the victory.

With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 1-6 while the Falcons rise to 3-4 on the season. Frostburg will be back in action at home on Thursday, April 7 at 5 PM to take on West Virginia Wesleyan. For more information and updates, visit www.frostburgsports.com.
