WEST LIBERTY- W. Va. - Frostburg State Men's Basketball traveled to #2 West Liberty on February 16 for the second matchup of the season against the Hilltoppers.
FSU would open the scoring with the first bucket, but multiple runs brought the Hilltoppers into the lead. A back and forth first half had the Bobcats keeping WL on their toes, with FSU drawing within ten points of WL in the first half at 38-28, but the second ranked Hilltoppers would manage to put up 51 points in the first half while also going 50% from the field.
Into the second half, WL would come out firing once again and stack up points, reaching the century mark with around three minutes remaining in the second half. The Hilltoppers would go on to win the game 114-76, and take the season series against Frostburg State.
Graduate Student Canaan Bartley would lead the scoring for the Bobcats, registering 19 points in the contest. Following behind would be junior Agyei Edwards with 13 points, graduate student Jihar Williams with 12 points and junior Micheal Tate Jr. with 10 points.
Number two West Liberty would improve to 23-2 (17-2 MEC) and Frostburg State would fall to 6-19 (4-15 MEC). Frostburg State returns to action February 19 when they host the Wheeling Cardinals at 4:00 PM from Bobcat Arena.
