GREENWOOD, SC- The Frostburg State Softball team competed at the Brianna Surrento Kickoff Classic where they faced West Georgia in a 4-3 loss and Lander in a 10-3 loss. 
 
In the first matchup against West Georgia, the Bobcats scored first after senior Ava Gnibus was walked which allowed freshman Jayla Hill to score, giving Gnibus an RBI.  All runs for the Bobcats came from RBI's where the bases were loaded.  Senior Kennadie Batchelor and sophomore Sierra Sanderson scored for the Bobcats, but it wasn't enough leading to a West Georgia victory.
 
In the second matchup against Lander, the Bobcats got off to a slow start being down 4-0 by the end of the third inning. Sanderson would be walked in the fourth with the bases loaded and put the Bobcats on the board with freshman Samara Funk crossing the plate. Later in the fourth, Hill would hit a single into left field scoring freshman Kennedy Brumagin and sophomore Emily Hughes. Lander would also have a good fourth inning leading to a Lander 10-3 victory. 
 
After today, the Bobcats fall to a 0-4 record while West Georgia rises to α 3-3 record and Lander rises to an 8-1 record on the season.
